Treatment and prevention of acid damage
Much of what we drink and eat is acidic. Soft drinks, energy drinks, and sour candy can damage tooth enamel. Frequent and prolonged consumption can cause acid damage to the teeth.
Acidic food and drink will wear away the outermost layer of the teeth first. With extensive acid damage, the dentin will be visible and teeth will appear yellowish.
For severe acid damage, the dentist will place fillings on the acid-damaged teeth to help with sensitivity and prevent further damage. If you have extensive acid damage, you may be eligible for coverage from Helfo.
