Acid Damage to Teeth

Treatment and prevention of acid damage

Much of what we drink and eat is acidic. Soft drinks, energy drinks, and sour candy can damage tooth enamel. Frequent and prolonged consumption can cause acid damage to the teeth.

How do I know if I have acid damage?

Acidic food and drink will wear away the outermost layer of the teeth first. With extensive acid damage, the dentin will be visible and teeth will appear yellowish.
