Safe and gentle tooth removal
Teeth are meant to last a lifetime, yet there can be several reasons why a tooth needs to be extracted.
You will receive local anesthesia so you will not feel pain, but you may feel pressure and pushing. It is also possible to receive sedative medication.
Teeth that are broken, damaged, or located under the gum usually need to be surgically removed.
Simple tooth extraction costs from 900-1400 NOK. Surgical tooth extraction costs between 2000-4000 NOK.
Pain relief: The first choice is a combination of ibuprofen (400mg) and paracetamol (1g) up to four times a day.
Antibiotics: If there is an increased risk of infection, you will receive antibiotics.
Smoking: Do not smoke for the first 48 hours - it increases the risk of infection and dry socket.
Food: Wait until the anesthesia wears off (2-3 hours). Eat soft food for the first few days.
Bleeding: Light bleeding is normal. Bite down on a compress to stop it.
Snus/tobacco: Wait 48 hours. Tobacco can delay healing.
